2014 Aug 5

Aidin Ameri, son of Amirteymour Ameri and Azarmidokht Hakimi of Tehran, Iran, received the Nathaniel Rochester Society Scholarship from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Aidin is a second-year student in the computing security program in RIT's B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences.

The NRS Scholarship program is made possible by the Nathaniel Rochester Society, RIT's leadership-level donors. This unique merit scholarship was created in 1991 to recognize RIT undergraduate students for outstanding achievement. The program now encompasses more than 26 separate scholarships and is funded through hundreds of annual leadership donations to RIT. More than 2,500 students have benefited from the generosity of NRS members over the last 22 years.

To be eligible for the award, students must be enrolled in a bachelor's degree program at RIT, have a minimum of 3.4 cumulative GPA, have completed a minimum of 36 credit hours or 12 RIT credit hours for transfer students as of Spring 2014 semester, and demonstrate leadership, involvement in extracurricular activities and community service.
