Alexa Martinez earns 2013 Liberty League Fall All-Academic team honors

2014 Jan 21

Liberty League commissioner Tracy King recently announced the 483 fall sport student-athletes who have qualified for the league's All-Academic Teams in their respective sports -- including a total of 34 student-athletes from Rochester Institute of Technology.

Alexa Martinez, a senior on the women's soccer team, is among the honorees. Martinez is in RIT's new media design program. The Liberty League's fall championship sports include men's and women's cross country, field hockey, football, men's and women's soccer and volleyball. To be recognized as a member of the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20. "The student-athletes in the Liberty League have consistently performed at high levels academically," said King. "These young men and women continue to demonstrate that it is possible to not only succeed academically, but to achieve athletically at the highest level in Division III. I congratulate and salute them on their outstanding achievements."
