Ben Lynaugh earns 2016 All-Liberty League men's tennis honors

2016 May 25

Ben Lynaugh of the RIT men's tennis team earned All-Liberty League honors, as the League announced its 2016 end of season awards on Tuesday, May 17. The duo of Chandler Daub and Lynaugh earned honorable mention as a doubles team.

Daub had an excellent year, leading the Tigers in dual play. After missing the fall portion of the schedule due to injury, Daub rallied to win eight matches, all at first singles. It is the most victories by any Tiger in dual play in the top slot since Neville Bilimoria did so in the 2011-12 season. Daub was named the Liberty League Singles Performer of the Week twice.

Lynaugh returned in 2016 after a major injury the previous season, teaming up with Daub to form a formidable duo in the RIT lineup at first doubles. They won six matches, which included victories over Union, Elmira, and SUNY Oneonta. Daub and Lynaugh earned Liberty League Doubles Performers of the Week honors on April 4, after dominating wins over Hamilton and Bard. The Tigers finished with five dual victories in the 2015-16 season under first year head coach Zach Remis.
