Bruce James of Crystal Bay, Nev., Named as RIT Distinguished Alumnus

ROCHESTER, NY (03/26/2013)(readMedia)-- Bruce James of Crystal Bay, Nev., is the recipient of a 2013 Rochester Institute of Technology Distinguished Alumni Award.

James, who graduated from RIT in 1964 with a degree in printing, founded and led 13 printing and publishing organizations, including the Polish American Printing Co. and Barclays Law Publishers in San Francisco. Since retiring in 1993, he has served on seven higher-education-related boards, including RIT, where he is chairman-emeritus of the Board of Trustees. In 2002, he was appointed by President George W. Bush, and confirmed by the Senate, as the nation's 24th Public Printer.

Each year, RIT's leaders select one graduate from each of the university's nine colleges who embodies the best of RIT. This year, nine distinguished alumni stand out among the more than 111,000 accomplished graduates for celebrating creativity and demonstrating a passionate performance in their profession.
