Janet Myers named a 2015 college delegate

Janet Myers of Canandaigua was chosen as the 2015 undergraduate college delegate for Rochester Institute of Technology's Center for Multidisciplinary Studies. Myers is an applied arts and science major from Canandaigua, N.Y. Although she will be receiving her bachelor’s degree in May, Myers is already working on her master’s degree in neurotechnological science from RIT’s Center for Multidisciplinary Studies. Myers an active member of RIT’s e-NABLE research lab and plans to continue to volunteer there throughout her graduate education. As an undergraduate, Myers and other researchers at the lab helped research and develop 3D-printed prostheses.

Each of RIT's colleges selects one or more student representative to participate in the Academic Convocation and college commencement ceremonies. The delegates' overall personal achievement demonstrates the ideals of RIT, including but not limited to academic achievement. During Academic Convocation, held this year on May 22, college delegates accept degrees on behalf of their colleges' graduates during the symbolic conferral of degrees. Each college delegate speaks at his or her college commencement ceremony.
