Szybist named Liberty League Volleyball Player of the week for fourth time in 2016

Senior outside hitter Sarah Szybist (Colorado Springs, CO/Ramstein) of the RIT volleyball team was named the Liberty League Volleyball Performer of the Week on Monday, for the week ending Oct 16, 2016. It is Szybist's fourth weekly honor of the 2016 season and 13th of her RIT career. Szybist was named Most Valuable Player of the RIT Volleyball Invitational for the fourth consecutive season, as the Tigers (19-11) went 4-0 on the weekend. Szybist hit .329 with 67 kills (4.8/set), 27 digs (1.9/set) and 5.1 points per set. She opened the week by hitting .579 with 12 kills in a win over Utica and slammed 19 kills to defeat Trine. On Saturday, Szybist hit .452 with 17 kills and 13 blocks in a three-set win over Fisher and finished the day with 19 kills and nine digs in a win over DeSales. Szybist leads all of Division III with 606 kills and is second with 5.18 kills and 5.82 points per set in 30 matches this season. She is now eighth all-time in Division III with 2,399 career kills.
