Szybist records third consecutive Liberty League Volleyball weekly honor

Senior outside hitter Sarah Szybist (Colorado Springs, CO/Ramstein) of the RIT volleyball team was named the Liberty League Volleyball Performer of the Week on Monday, for the week ending Sept. 18, 2016. It is Szybist'sthird consecutive weekly honor to start the 2016 season and 12th of her RIT career.

Szybist slammed 85 kills (6.1/set) and hit .301 to go along with 41 digs (2.9/set), seven aces, and seven blocks in a 3-1 week as the Tigers opened up Liberty League play. On Friday, she surpassed 2,000 career kills in a 20-kill, 10 dig performance, as RIT rolled to a three-set win over St. Lawrence. Later on Friday, she had 25 kills and 13 digs in a five-set loss to Clarkson. Saturday, she hit .600 with 10 kills in a win over Bard, then added 30 kills and 16 digs in a four-set win over Vassar.

Szybist continues to lead all of the Division III with 5.58 kills and 6.51 points per set in 13 matches this season.
