Tara Lynch named Liberty League Women's Basketball Performer of the Week

Sophomore forward Tara Lynch (Green Township, NJ/Newton) of the RIT women's basketball team, was named Liberty League Women's Basketball Performer of the Week on Monday, for the week ending Dec. 4, 2016. It is the first time Lynch has been honored by the league this season.

Lynch led RIT to a 3-0 record last week, with wins versus Allegheny, Nazareth and St. John Fisher. She averaged 19.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, and shot 52.2 percent from the floor.

Monday, Lynch tallied 15 points, grabbed seven rebounds in an 87-49 win over Allegheny College. She tallied 10 points in Friday's 68-52 win at Nazareth. Saturday, Lynch tallied a career-high 33 points in an 82-80 overtime win at St. John Fisher. She shot 12-of-22 from the floor and grabbed nine rebounds, earning Mark's Pizzeria Crosstown Classic All-Tournament Team honors.

Lynch leads the team in scoring, averaging 16.0 points per game, and second on the team averaging 5.0 rebounds per contest. She is second on the team, shooting 51.9 percent from the floor.
