Tianna Manon named a 2015 college delegate

2015 Jun 3

Tianna Manon of Rochester was chosen as the 2015 undergraduate college delegate for Rochester Institute of Technology's College of Liberal Arts. Manon is a Rochester native double majoring in journalism and political science. In addition to working a co-op with the Democrat and Chronicle, Manon attended the Institute on Political Journalism in Washington, D.C., where she was chosen to represent her class and gave a speech on graduation day. Manon is currently applying to several fellowships and positions in the reporting field, including the Atlantic Media Fellowship Program and Urban Turf.

Each of RIT's colleges selects one or more student representative to participate in the Academic Convocation and college commencement ceremonies. The delegates' overall personal achievement demonstrates the ideals of RIT, including but not limited to academic achievement. During Academic Convocation, held this year on May 22, college delegates accept degrees on behalf of their colleges' graduates during the symbolic conferral of degrees. Each college delegate speaks at his or her college commencement ceremony.

Congratulations, Tianna!
