Excellence in Student Life Award
RIT has been honoring students for this award since 1964 as a way to recognize students who were able to find the balance between academic success and student engagement. Students have been selected for this honor based upon having GPAs over 3.4, and holding significant leadership positions within RIT-related activities. All award recipients are graduating in 2021.

Rochester Institute of Technology's College of Liberal Arts honored student achievements in writing with 15 writing awards on Friday, March 19. This year marks the 41st year the awards were presented, though the first time the ceremony was held virtually.

Pandemic inspires student to create interactive narrative game about isolation
In a new game created by RIT student Sean Arnold '20 (game design and development), players must navigate paranoia and loneliness in order to make it off an isolated ship alive. Sean was inspired by his experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic to create an interactive narrative game called The Peresmeshnik.

RIT student video game wins Best in Show at Boston Festival of Indie Games
The Gristmill, a digital card game created by RIT students, won Best in Show and Best Student Game at the Boston Festival of Indie Games, held Sept. 14. To win the top prize, the RIT game beat out more than 40 selected digital games, including indie projects created by professionals.

RIT helps students take an entrepreneurial gap year to make business ideas flourish
Brandon Hudson is the first student selected for the Gap Year Entrepreneurship Fellows Program, which allows students with an ongoing enterprise to take a year to focus their full attention on the venture. He will receive $15,000 in support and mentoring while also making progress on his RIT degree.

Graduating biotech major found enriching experiences at RIT
Recent RIT College of Science grad Ashley Adair is a trailblazer in her family. This May, she was the first to earn a college degree. She is also one of the first RIT students to graduate from a program that equips STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) majors with skills for navigating college.
