More than 100 RIT students were honored March 28 as Outstanding Undergraduate Scholars. The students were also able to invite the high school or community college teacher that made the most impact on their education.

Women's Council of RIT awards scholarships
The Women's Council of RIT awarded 13 students with scholarships at the Women's Council Scholarship Award Luncheon at Liberty Hill on April 17. Every year, the Women's Council of RIT provides academic scholarships to students who "earn high academic achievement as well as community and RIT involvement in light of extenuating circumstances."

RIT's College of Liberal Arts honors students for writing excellence
RIT's College of Liberal Arts honored student achievement in writing with the presentation of more than a dozen writing awards for essays varying from sanctuary cities, how democracies can withstand outside meddling, and the excavation, preservation and reconstruction of a London theater where Shakespearian plays debuted.

NTID names first group of Maguire Scholars
Rochester Institute of Technology's National Technical Institute for the Deaf has named its first group of Maguire Scholars. The students, who are deaf or hard of hearing, will each earn $5,000 per year, up to four years, and must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.0 while actively participating in extracurricular activities or community service.

Brandon Hudson is the first student selected for the Gap Year Entrepreneurship Fellows Program, which allows students with an ongoing enterprise to take a year to focus their full attention on the venture. He will receive $15,000 in support and mentoring while also making progress on his RIT degree.

Graduating biotech major found enriching experiences at RIT
Recent RIT College of Science grad Ashley Adair is a trailblazer in her family. This May, she was the first to earn a college degree.
