Rochester Institute of Technology conferred nearly 4,500 degrees at all of its campuses in the 2023-2024 academic year. RIT's academic convocation celebration was held in May and featured remarks by Patricia "Pattie" Moore, a distinguished designer and trailblazing alumna of the class of 1974.

RIT Esports is coming home with another national championship. On Dec. 3, the Counter Strike 2 team won the 2023 Grand Finals of the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE) Varsity Premier league-the most competitive league that NACE offers. This is RIT's eighth national championship in esports.

Rochester Institute of Technology's College of Liberal Arts honored student achievements in writing with 15 writing awards on Friday, March 19. This year marks the 41st year the awards were presented, though the first time the ceremony was held virtually.

RIT student Keegan Evans will take his place this summer among a group of young Air Force officers from around the globe who have been selected for the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training program. In a new game created by RIT student Sean Arnold '20 (game design and development), players must navigate paranoia and loneliness in order to make it off an isolated ship alive. Sean was inspired by his experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic to create an interactive narrative game called The Peresmeshnik.

Ailene Lung has received RIT's Nathaniel Rochester Society Scholarship, a merit-based scholarship created in 1991 to recognize undergraduate students for their outstanding academic and leadership achievements. More than 100 scholarships are awarded each year by the NRS Scholarship Committee, and the scholarship is available to students who have achieved second-year standing at RIT with a GPA of 3.4 or higher.

The Gristmill, a digital card game created by RIT students, won Best in Show and Best Student Game at the Boston Festival of Indie Games, held Sept. 14. To win the top prize, the RIT game beat out more than 40 selected digital games, including indie projects created by professionals.
